Parking
Parking available on site. Please consider ride-sharing to the festival - Raffle tickets to those who come up to festival with 4+ people in car.
Uintas Permits
If you plan to drive to your clinic and or camp outside of base camp you will need Mirror Lake Recreation Fee Area Permit
We will provide Mirror Lake Recreation Fee Area Permit for clinic participants at Base Camp - Camp Roger. If you have a National Parks Pass please use that instead of taking a permit.
3-day Pass $6.00 or a National Parks Pass
You can purchase the permit at the following places:
Samak Smoke House: 937 UT-150, Kamas, UT 84036
Mirror Lake Station: 2 N Main St, Kamas, UT 84036
Heber-Kamas Ranger District: 50 E Center St, Kamas, UT 84036
Base Camp Water
There will be water available on site at the event base. Please make sure to bring water containers and enough water for the duration of your clinic from 10-4 p.m. We recommend at least two liters. Clinics will be hosted off-site in the Uintas.
Food
Pancakes by Kodiak Cakes and Breakfast Burritos (vegetarian option available) by Alpha Coffee will be provided each morning.
Lunch is not provided, so please pack your own lunch and snacks. Once you are in the Uintas, there are no food options to purchase snacks or lunch. Stop at Kamas Food Town on the way!
Dinner will be served from The Notch Pub, offering vegetarian options.
Participants will receive two drink tickets for the Saturday night party, featuring beverages from Moab Brewery and non-alcoholic drinks available.
Remember to bring your ID for your 21+ wristband.
Restrooms
The event base has ADA compliant restrooms on-site in the vendor village at Camp Roger. There are restrooms at the clinic locations. Please pack out all human waste and toilet paper and bring a WAG Bag if needed for #2.
Clinics
Upon registration, the guiding outfitter running your clinic should have already been in touch about gear and other preparations for your clinic. If you have not yet heard from them, let us know ASAP by emailing Cheyanne at Events@SaltLakeClimbers.org
You will meet your Clinic at Base Camp (Camp Roger) after meeting you will leave camp for your designated climbing locations with your group.
There is no service in the Uintas be sure to know where your clinic is before you leave Camp Roger!
Gear
You should be prepared to bring your personal climbing gear including, but not limited to: helmet, climbing shoes, harness, belay device, pack, water, food, clothing layers, sun protection. There will be limited climbing gear demos Saturday morning.
Please note that the event takes place at an elevation of 8,000-10,000 feet, where temperatures are typically 10-15 degrees cooler than in Salt Lake City. To ensure your comfort and enjoyment, we highly recommend bringing the following items: puffy jackets, closed-toed shoes, hats, and pants. These essential pieces of clothing will help keep you warm and protected as you embrace the mountain atmosphere. Don't forget to pack accordingly and be prepared for the slightly chillier climate at our event. And don’t forget the sleeping bag!
Transportation
Please consider car pooling with other clinic participants. There will be clinic location maps available upon registration and at the event base. Each climbing participant is expected to meet their climbing instructor at Camp Roger by 10am .
Weather
This is a rain or shine event - please come prepared! Bring a rain jacket. Close toed shoes are required during clinics. Evenings get chilly in the mountains this time of year so don’t forget your puffy jackets and hats!
Event Photos
SLCA's communications coordinator, Emily Trombly, along with volunteer photographers, will be present during various clinics and at our Saturday night party to capture photos of the festival. We want to assure you that your privacy is respected, and you have the option to opt-out of being included in any of the pictures during clinics. Your comfort and consent are our top priorities.
Saturday Afternoon & Evening Festivities
All ticket holders are welcome to join us for Saturday evening’s festivities and Sunday morning breakfast!

Dogs
Check out the local Park City Dog Center in Kamas to have your friend just down the road!
Please kindly refrain from bringing your furry friends to the Climbing Festival at Camp Roger, as dogs are not permitted on the grounds. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees. Thank you for leaving your dogs at home during the festival. Dogs are not allowed at clinics. If you bring your dog, you will be respectfully asked to leave.
Cell Phone Service
Because Camp Roger is located in the heart of the mountains, communication is very limited. There are neither grounded phone lines nor any cell phone service; however, the SLCA has a GARMIN In Reach for emergencies and limited wi-fi if the need arises.
Cancellation
