AUGUST 24 - 25

Join us for the 7th Annual Salt Lake Climbing Festival- a weekend of climbing clinics, festivities, and community!

Each year as part of our educational initiative, the Salt Lake Climbers Alliance hosts the only climbing festival in Salt Lake City. Set in our own beautiful backyard of the Wasatch Front, there are clinics for both beginner and seasoned climbers. Clinics will run in single and two-day formats, with our base camp, dinner and festivities held at Brighton Ski Resort. Camping with us around Brighton’s Millicent Chalet is included with all ticket options.

We welcome all ability levels and identities to learn and grow with us as our local climbing community blossoms.

All proceeds from the festival fund the SLCA’s work towards advocacy and environmental stewardship for the Wasatch, including our ongoing trail-work and the WARI project.

With less than a week away from the fun, we are unable to process further clinic changes and/or cancellations.

Saturday Night Party Tickets are only $30 and still available at the door!

Doors open at 4:30 pm - see you there!

Dear Salt Lake Climbing Festival Participants,

We can't wait to spend this weekend with you in the mountains! All proceeds for this event go directly back to advocacy and stewardship of Wasatch climbing.

Here are some final FAQs for the fest - see you tomorrow!

Check-in and Registration
We will open Check-in and Registration at 7 am both Saturday and Sunday morning, and also 4:30 pm Saturday afternoon. Please make sure you bring a valid ID if you plan to have alcoholic drinks with us Saturday evening. The Check-in/Registration table will also have information about shuttles for the weekend, and clinic meet-up spots each morning.

Parking & Camping
Camping is first come, first serve for this event. Be sure to bring weights and tie downs for your tents and don't leave any food in your tent - there have been recent bear sightings at Brighton. Limited camping in vehicles is also available. Please use provided restroom facilities as we are watershed property and do NOT camp within 200’ of any water source. NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED anywhere at this event (even in your vehicle). Theft in the canyons is a problem, please secure your valuables during the event (including in your vehicles if you drive to the crag).

Going Green
In an effort to reduce waste, we’ve invested in glass mugs for you to use for the entire fest as well as bamboo/sugarcane plates and cutlery.

Water & Food
There will be water available on site at the Millicent Chalets at the drinking fountains. Please make sure to bring water containers and enough water for the duration of your clinic. Clinics will be hosted off-site in either Big or Little Cottonwood Canyons and there is not water available during clinics.

Breakfast by Dottie’s Kolaches (& a yogurt parfait option) are included both mornings, and ProBar and Red Canyon Co. will be providing bars and trail mix samples for the festival. However, please keep in mind your own food needs for a full-day clinic and pack appropriately. Dinner will be from Yoshi's Japanese Grill with vegetarian options available.

The Millicent Chalet has ADA compliant restrooms on-site.

Upon registration, the guiding outfitter running your clinic should have already been in touch about gear and other preparations for you clinic. If you have not yet heard from them, let me know ASAP.

We will be providing shuttles to clinics from base camp both mornings through Canyon Transportation. You are more than welcome to drive yourself as well, however parking at the crags is limited.

Each morning clinics will meet up after breakfast for a 10 am departure from base camp. Please be mindful of the time when grabbing breakfast, those last minute restroom runs, etc.
Shuttles are scheduled to return to base camp between 4-4:30 pm.

This is a rain or shine event- please come prepared! Bring a rain jacket. Close toed shoes are required during clinics. Evenings get chilly in the mountains this time of year so don’t forget your puffy jacket!

Saturday Afternoon & Evening Festivities
All ticket holders are welcome to join us for Saturday evening’s shenanigans!
Seriously, everyone! That’s Saturday-only clinics, Sunday-only clinics, Saturday night tickets, 2-day Clinics, and Full Weekend pass tickets.

This year’s Saturday night festivities include Pilates by Streamline and Grassroots Physical Therapy, Hiking with the Backcountry Gearheads to Lake Mary, a cocktail hour with RAB and Moab Brewery, demos and activities in the Vendor Village, hourly raffles, dinner with Yoshi’s Japanese Grill and live music by Michelle Moonshine Trio!

Sunday, August 25th
Transportation will be available back to base camp apres clinics. You are welcome to breakdown camping after the event, or breakdown Sunday morning and drive to your clinics. If you are planning to meet your instructor at the clinic locale, please make sure to let them know so they aren’t expecting you on the vans.

We are unable to process further clinic changes and/or cancellations.

We are looking forward to another great weekend with our Salt Lake climbing community.

See you up there!
